Novela que da marcha atrás en todos los sentidos respectivamente a su predecesora。 Personajes totalmente olvidables salvo uno de los protagonistas， una historia totalmente irrelevante y con poco interés narrativo。。。 Es una novela totalmente olvidable de la cual se referencia mínimamente en la tercera entrega。

’I want a miracle’Sasha hunny I wanted a miracle too， aka this series improves， but sometimes miracles just don’t happen。Metro 2034 is the second instalment in the METPO trilogy， and this time follows three different characters; the returning， elusive Hunter， who is not at all like himself， avid story-teller Homer， who just wants to be remembered， and 17 year-old Sasha， who feels a connection to the man Hunter has become。 Their journey revolves around the outbreak of a mysterious disease in a ne ’I want a miracle’Sasha hunny I wanted a miracle too， aka this series improves， but sometimes miracles just don’t happen。Metro 2034 is the second instalment in the METPO trilogy， and this time follows three different characters; the returning， elusive Hunter， who is not at all like himself， avid story-teller Homer， who just wants to be remembered， and 17 year-old Sasha， who feels a connection to the man Hunter has become。 Their journey revolves around the outbreak of a mysterious disease in a nearby station， and whether it is worth hunting down a cure， or taking more drastic measures to protect the Metro at large。This instalment felt very much like a one step forward， two steps back situation。 For every positive change this one had to the first， there was always something else that held me back from classing it as a solid improvement。I thought Glukhovsky’s writing style was immensely improved in this one。 No more of the dreary repetitive monologues and stunted dialogue， but everything flowed together and seemed far more focused on the plot at hand， rather than exposition on the Metro itself。 I also did like the characters introduced in this one。 A big downfall of Metro 2033 was that the characters to me were very one-dimensional。 While I still can’t say I cared overly much about our main three， I did find them interesting at parts and thought they were unique。 I also thought the side characters of this instalment were given much more depth， most notably being Sasha’s Dad and the men in charge of Sebastopol Station。 I can also commend what Glukhovsky attempted to do with Leonid the Musician， but for me he was just a waste of time， and I didn’t like him at all。However， this did still have a lot of the issues of the first， and some new ones of its own。 The very strange shoe-horned ‘love story’ between Hunter and Sasha （if you can even call it that…） was so out of place and just didn’t have any relevance to anything？ Why create a love-story if 1。 The characters interact a grand total of four times， 2。 They don’t have any romantic chemistry or dialogue， or 3。 One of the characters just doesn’t seem to reciprocate it at all？ I wouldn’t have minded some romance in between all the politics and survival of this series， but please， if you’re going to do it at least commit to it， and not give us some half-arsed excuse to put on to your blurb。 Another issue I had was the plot， in that it was very ‘meh’ to me。 Yes， there was a clear goal， but I just didn’t care？ I should care about an outbreak of a virus， especially as I normally eat books and films with that plot-point up like I’m starving。 But I didn’t， because it took so long to do anything about it， and it wasn’t treated with any of the urgency it should’ve been， resulting in me simply being bored。Overall， Metro 2034 gets a 3/5。 I will be continuing on to the final book， simply because I’ve already bought it， but I’m now not holding out much hope for the finale。 。。。more

Першим， що впадає в очі при читанні даної книги є інший стиль написання твору。 Так， на відміну від першої частини， 2034 читається складніше。 Зазначу， що для мене такий крок став більш позитивним， аніж навпаки。 Зокрема， змінилося послання автора читачам， у цій книзі Глуховський вирішив більш детально викласти свої думки щодо постапокаліпсису， і саме тому Метро 2034 є більш філософським у порівнянні зі своїм попередником。 Так само це простежується і в поданні самого метрополітену — у другій частин Першим， що впадає в очі при читанні даної книги є інший стиль написання твору。 Так， на відміну від першої частини， 2034 читається складніше。 Зазначу， що для мене такий крок став більш позитивним， аніж навпаки。 Зокрема， змінилося послання автора читачам， у цій книзі Глуховський вирішив більш детально викласти свої думки щодо постапокаліпсису， і саме тому Метро 2034 є більш філософським у порівнянні зі своїм попередником。 Так само це простежується і в поданні самого метрополітену — у другій частині трилогії， він чомусь майже позбувся більшості таємничих аспектів; містика в романі віднесена на другий план。Попри це， сюжет роману є доволі якісним і цікавим， хоча і з певними недоліками。 Так фінал твору є доволі куцим — складається враження， що в автора не вистачило часу на те， щоб втілити усі свої задуми。 Окремо зазначу， що доволі дратівним є сексуальний підтекст， що доволі невдало оточує Сашу протягом усього оповідання。 Загалом， попри певні недоліки Метро 2034 є вдалим продовженням серії， а прочитати його варто хоча б задля того， щоби краще зрозуміти думку автора про майбутнє людства， що вже колись знищило себе。 。。。more

Not as good as Metro 2033 but I didn’t expect it to be。 However， I did find it MUCH better than the majority of reviews。 It’s more like a side story/quest in a video game that compliments and makes the original even better。 I blew threw this book in just over 2 days， very fun and easy read imo。

Despite all the positives I'm about to lay out， I must first preface it with the warning that you will be faced with heavily sexist writing in parts。 Despite little connect to the first story beyond one key character and a few pointless references， the writing definitely feels like a next step。 Less time is spent painting a perfect picture， allowing for more time for people。 I found myself much more invested in this story with genuine care for some of the characters。 The strong opening dynamic g Despite all the positives I'm about to lay out， I must first preface it with the warning that you will be faced with heavily sexist writing in parts。 Despite little connect to the first story beyond one key character and a few pointless references， the writing definitely feels like a next step。 Less time is spent painting a perfect picture， allowing for more time for people。 I found myself much more invested in this story with genuine care for some of the characters。 The strong opening dynamic gets hampered by the cards being revealed too early， leading to a situation of inevitably which can take on new meanings in a contemporary light。 As for specific points， the map provided at the start was completely unreadable and the translation of station names is not consistent， leading to times of confusion over where is different or the same。 Previous descriptive phrases are reused from the last book and the recounting narrative offers a unique opportunity to tell the story in an unconventional manor， which often unfortunately goes unused， falling back on quickly flicking between view points which prevents a resolution to each section or paragraph and can cause specific points being lost by being too spread out with other simultaneous stories/events。 Overall I would fall positively upon this book if it didn't decide to go massively off the rails for a few chapters as mentioned at the start。 The change is stark， with long paragraphs of introspection dedicated to fundamentally sexist notions of all women requiring men to lean on and cling to， needing to develop around a man before they can be of any assistance。 A charitable look would be that it is trying to show the notions this character was raised with， however no counterpoint is offered at any point， instead seemingly being a veiw point of the author which changes the tone of the ending completely when viewed through the lens of what came earlier。 I wondered why every secondary character was an older man in the first book but that doubt was better than this。 A genuinely sickening section， even if you were to read it you would be well within your right to put it down at that point， as I did for a while before seeing if it redeemed itself （no）。 A real opportunity for a great book ruined。 。。。more

Meh。 Väldigt välbygd atmosfär i första halvan av boken som jag hoppades skulle fortsätta igenom hela berättelsen men blev mer av ett race mot klockan och därav inga fina beskrivningar av Moskvas tunnelbana hela vägen till slutstation utan bara i början。Man bryr sig inte om karaktärerna och verkar vara mer värt att spela spelen än att läsa böckerna。 Har spelat första och tonen och atmosfären där var spektakulärt。

A large portion of the book is tedious explanations of the main characters’ emotions。 This overdoes the characters and makes the book seem bogged down—like it’s trying to do too much。 The basic story isn’t as cool as 2033， but it is simple， intriguing， and would make quite a good book in its own right if the style matched。 Show don’t tell。
